Exquisite antique Japanese cinnabar lacquer manju netsuke, finely hand-carved in a rare hexagonal form.
This double-sided netsuke features intricate high-relief carvings:
Side A depicts a reclining man beside a sake barrel, cup, and lush foliage – possibly referencing a legendary poet or sage in a moment of leisure.
Side B shows a seated figure with traditional Japanese auspicious symbols including the mallet of luck (uchide no kozuchi) and a treasure sack – evoking themes of good fortune.
Each surface is richly decorated with traditional wave, pine, and chrysanthemum patterns, reflecting both Japanese and Chinese artistic influence.
Material: Cinnabar lacquer on wood core

Type: Two-part manju netsuke with complete himotoshi (cord channel)
