Description
A refined three-case gold lacquer inrō, masterfully decorated in maki-e to depict a tranquil sunset over the sea.
The smooth kinji ground transitions subtly from warm gold to darker tones, evoking the fading light of dusk.
Bands of silver hiramaki-e clouds drift above undulating waves rendered in raised gold takamaki-e, enriched with delicate kirikane patterns that shimmer like sunlight on water.
At the horizon, a brilliant red coral inlay represents the setting sun — a striking focal point of this poetic composition.
The inrō is fitted with its original braided silk cord and a matching coral ojime bead, harmonizing with the design.

Excellent and complete condition with fine, warm patina; minor expected age wear consistent with period.
